The sweetest place on earth

Well, in May I officially moved from good old Utah to Pennsylvania, Hershey to be exact. Here I have been attending Penn State College of Medicine as a PA Student. It has been pretty rough and brutal with regards to the classwork, but we have finally finished our first semester, and I am still here! The area is very beautiful, and green. Its hard not having mountains like Utah, but you kinda get use to it. I have made some amazing friends, and my classmates are like my family. We all have each others backs and are helping one another succeed. I made the right decision to attend PSCOM. The faculty, Staff, and medical providers here are absolutely amazing. My puppy Lady isn't a puppy anymore. She had her first birthday last week. And that's about all thats gone on. I hope to keep this updated, but in reality, once school starts back up next week, I will hardly have time to eat and sleep. Below are some random pics regarding Hershey and PSCOM.

Although I could wright quite a few pages, I am sadly limited. I just wanted to include my amazing trip with one of my besties Jordan Davis. We had a chance to go to Northern Italy and check out some of the fun landmarks. We flew into Venice and rented a little mini car. From there we obviously checked out Venice, and then began our road trip. In order, we checked out Ferrara, Bologna, San Marinio, Pesaro (and the beach), Urbino, Urbania, Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, and then flew out from Florence. We stayed along the way at creepy old hotels, hostels, etc. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Thanks Jordo! Below are a few random pics of our trip.

Misc. events of 2013

The remainder of my 2013 year was busy, and full of a lot of good memories. Earlier in the summer of 2013 I was accepted as the Jordan High School Lacrosse Head Varsity Coach for the 2014 spring season. It has been a lot of work thus far, but is going to be a fun, and amazing experience. Here is an article they did on me if you are interested: http://www.utahlacrossenews.com/2013/07/jordan-hires-bird-to-lead-beetdiggers/

The other big thing that occurred from Jun-December of 2013 was my adventure of applying to Medical school for a Masters Degree in PA studies. It was long, and very successful. I had the chance to fly to multiple schools all over the country, and was fortunate enough to be accepted to most all of my programs of interest. After a lot of thought and consideration, I finally decided to accept an offer to attend Penn State School of Medicine, PA program!! I am very excited to begin this new chapter of my life. I will begin my schooling in May 2014. It will consist of 2 years of intense medical training, and I will ultimately become a medically licensed PA. I look forward to the challenge, and am sad to leave Utah, but excited to call Hershey Pennsylvania my new home for the next few years.

The last big thing that occurred in 2013 is I became a dad!!! Not of the homosapien kind....but of the K9 type lol. I bought a female yellow lab puppy (AKC papered). She is so cute and growing fast. Well folks, thats about it! 2014 should bring great new adventures and many more posts. So here's to another year!!!

Dios Mios!! It's PERU!

As you can tell from the current date, I have had a hard time keeping my blog updated! But, because its already a new year, I figured I would begin updating appropriately. In April 2013 I had the chance to visit the wonderful country of Peru with one of my besties, Nick Monteferrante. It began with us flying US Airways....never again! Our flight from Dallas to Lima broke down while starting the engines up on the terminal!! Could you imagine if we were mid flight??  When we finally got on a "working" plane, we couldn't help but notice the plane was noticeably build and never updated since the late 70's. So anywho...that was fun.
Once we arrived to Lima, Peru we immediately got on a small connecting flight to Cuzco, Peru. From there we journeyed all over the Sacred Valley, meeting new people, get ripped off by pan-handlers, eating authentic food, and seeing amazing sites. We took a very slow train...veeerryyy sllooowwww....to Aquas Caliente..a very small village at the base of the infamous Machupicchu. Yes, it was even more beautiful then the pictures you have seen. We hiked a lot, took in the scenery, and highly enjoyed ourselves. To finish off our trip we flew back to Lima, and enjoyed a day by the beach and shopping malls! It was an amazing experience filled with amazing experiences, and good bonding time with my buddy Nick!. I will never forget it. Below are a few random pictures of our journey.
